Mandala Gardens & Medicine Circles

Mandala Gardens are a form of permaculture garden design that are inspired by the circular patterns found in nature and the symbolic representation of the Universe in Hindu and Buddhist mandalas. These gardens are typically circular in shape and divided into sections or "zones" that each serve a specific purpose, such as growing certain types of plants or providing a space for relaxation and meditation. The design of a Mandala Garden not only maximizes the use of space but also encourages a harmonious relationship between the various elements of the garden, promoting biodiversity and sustainable gardening practices.

Medicine Wheels (or 'Medicine Circles'; also, 'Stone Circles'), on the other hand, are a type of therapeutic garden that are often used in holistic healing practices. They are designed to be places of healing and reflection, where individuals can connect with nature and find peace and tranquility. Medicine Wheels can include a variety of elements, such as medicinal plants, water features, and spaces for meditation. The specific design and contents of a Medicine Wheel can vary greatly depending on the intended use and the cultural or spiritual beliefs of the individuals using the space.

Both Mandala Gardens and Medicine Wheels share a common theme of using garden design as a tool for promoting well-being and harmony. They both utilize the principles of circular design to create spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also serve a functional purpose, whether it's growing food in a sustainable way or providing a space for healing and reflection.
